Jo is a clinical psychologist, coach, and researcher on a mission to transform the mental wellbeing of HR professionals — a group she believes has been too often overlooked when it comes to psychological support. As co-founder of Ultimate Resilience, she leads pioneering HR Supervision initiatives and co-authored the first national survey into HR mental health. Her work is fuelled by a deep commitment to giving HR a voice and creating cultures where the people who support everyone else are finally supported themselves.
Jo’s path into psychology wasn’t straightforward. She left school with no qualifications, raised her son as a lone parent, and worked in various low-paid jobs before returning to education and building a successful 25-year clinical career. Her experience grounds everything she does — she knows what it means to feel stretched, unseen, and undervalued. Now, She brings a rare blend of clinical expertise, humility, and lived wisdom to her work, offering insight, warmth, and practical tools to help individuals and organisations thrive.
