Flourishing is described in the 5th century BC concept of Eudaimonia – as Aristotle said “the highest human good”. In the state of flourishing, we find a continued state of fulfilment, sustainable performance and learning that meets our needs as people and drives businesses to continued success.
But how do we define it and measure it?

Most of you will already know Perry Timms (HR Most Influential Thinker of 2022) as he is an old friend of everyone here at Liberty Recruitment. And for those who don’t, Perry is the founder and Chief Energy Officer of PTHR – a niche consultancy, setting out to create better business for a better world – and has just celebrated its 10th year of operating.
Perry is an international and TEDx speaker and award-winning writer on the future of work, HR & learning. His 2017 book Transformational HR was named one of the Top 100 Business Strategy books of all time.
He is also a proud Chartered member of the CIPD, a 5 times member of HR Magazine’s HR Most Influential Thinkers (making the Top 10 in 2018 & 2019 and No 1 overall in 2022) and is a Top 100 Global HR Influencer on numerous lists. He is a LinkedIn Learning instructor and Fellow of the RSA.
Perry is also Adjunct Professor at Hult International Business School and Ashridge Management School; a visiting fellow at Cranfield School of Management, and Sheffield Hallam University.
